Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. Where will our ceremony take place?
The wedding ceremony will be conducted on the beach, or on a lawn overlooking the beach, as close as possible to the bride’s lodging. Brides also may choose a ceremony on the lawn of a historic country club. Beach weddings are forbidden by ordinance in many areas of the beach.  Please give us a call before making a definite booking for any hotel or beach house.
  2. May we bring our own pastor?
Most of our couples use our pastors and officiants, but we will work with you to set your ceremony up with your own pastor if you like. it is legal for an ordained minister from any state to officiate wedding ceremonies and to sign a marriage license in South Carolina.
  3. May I choose decorations and flowers in my color scheme?
Our package includes a one-of-a-kind bridal bouquet and groom’s boutonniere of fresh flowers, designed especially for you by Myrtle Beach’s top floral designer. You may specify favorite flowers and colors, or just have the designer choose what is best for the season.  It is not possible to obtain all species of flowers here, but we will get flowers as close as possible to your ideas.
  4. What items are included in the reception menu?
Normally we have salad, choice of fish, chicken or beef entree, vegetables, starch, bread, iced tea, coffee, and of course wedding cake for dessert. If there is something special you would like, we will do our best to accommodate.
  5. May I choose my cake design/flavors?
All wedding cakes in our packages are three-tiered. Our cake designer will create a wedding cake in a beach theme or with almost any other theme. Occasionally there is an surcharge for a very elaborate design, but this is unusual.  The bride and groom may choose three flavors for their cake, one for each tier.
  6. May I choose my wedding music/musician?
Our musician will work with each couple to arrange the ceremony music, or, if you prefer, traditional wedding music will be played.  A vocalist, guitarist, or violinist can perform your special songs or, if you prefer, you may use recordings.
  7. Is it possible to arrange a group rate for lodging?
At this time we are not working with any hotels or beach houses for group discounts.
  8. What items are not included in the packages?
Popular items which are often added are extra bouquets for bridesmaids ($40 each), groomsmen boutonnieres ($12), entertainment for the reception, and alcohol.  If you are interested in recommendations for a DJ, we will send a list of those we have used in the past.
  9. May I add unique extras to my package?
We can help you to find almost any service you want to add for your ceremony or reception.  Examples are anything from custom centerpieces,  transportation from the beach to the reception, to a personal banner greeting overhead during your ceremony pulled by airplane.
  10. What is required to be married in South Carolina?
All couples must apply for and obtain a valid South Carolina Marriage License. The name of our county is Horry (the “H” is silent!). Details for application may be researched at horrycounty.org/departments/probatecourt, by calling the Probate Count at 843-915-9350, or at any South Carolina county courthouse.  Those using a passport for identification, or wishing to apply for their license online, will need to go to Georgetown County at georgetowncountysc.org/probate_court,
    or to call 843-545-3077.
At the conclusion of the wedding ceremony, our pastor or officiant will file copies of the license in the County Probate Court and with DHEC SC.  Your marriage will be legal all over the world.
